MCD Global Health works in the realm of both global and public health and is a National Public Health Institute.
Since 1966, our U.S. Division has worked to be a transforming force in public health in Maine and across the U.S., earning a reputation for responsive health initiatives that make an impact. These initiatives include: workforce development, staffing the public health workforce, capacity building, oral health, substance misuse, virtual health and technology, e-learning, and others.
Since 1977, our International Division has worked and expanded across several health areas in providing high-quality, cost-effective, accessible, and enduring interventions to improve the health and well-being of people around the world. These areas include: malaria, HIV/AIDS, reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health, cervical cancer, sanitation and hygiene, institutional strengthening, and performance-based financing.
