Community Health Worker Training and Apprenticeship Coordinator

We are looking to bring on board a coordinator to lead collaborative efforts in administering comprehensive training and apprenticeships for CHWs, including planning, organizing, delivering, and evaluating. This position is accountable for designing educational curriculums, developing evidence-based online training, providing relevant technical assistance, and maintaining existing CHW educational content. Further, this coordinator will develop educational curriculums using knowledge of learning theories, health literacy, instructional design, and consultations with subject matter experts (SMEs).

Knowledge, Qualifications and Skills
Essential Job Functions
Collaborate and partner to administer comprehensive training and apprenticeships for CHWs, including planning, organizing, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating.

This position is accountable for designing educational curriculums, developing evidence-based online training, providing relevant technical assistance, and maintaining existing CHW eLearning web platforms and educational content.

Develop educational curriculums using knowledge of learning theories, health literacy, and instructional design. Use education/adult learning methodologies to share information, build leadership, and promote CHW empowerment.

Collect evidence-based information and educational content through research and CHW subject matter experts. Recruit and manage content advisor and consultant groups and subject matter experts (SMEs)

Collect data and provide regular utilization reports to funders promptly and accurately.

Provide technical assistance to vendors and customer support to online training users, including the Community Health Worker Core Competency and Online Training Programs.

Monitor content updates, such as guideline changes, and ensure timely revisions to the website and modules as necessary.

Formulate outreach and marketing materials for contractors and stakeholders to use in eLearning promotion.

Work with the program manager and MCD team to ensure the required CHW Apprenticeship work plan, contracts, agreements, and reporting mechanisms are in place and maintained.

Carry out assigned CHW Apprenticeship program duties within the project work plan, and assist in monitoring the project budget.

Coordinate and participate in all monthly CHW Apprenticeship consortium meetings and coordinate related activities as necessary.

Coordination of various In-Person Trainings:

• Schedule, promote, secure venue, take registrations, and prep handouts for in-person trainings. For example MCD’s community health worker, behavioral health and blood pressure trainings. (Some offered via live virtual)
• Design promotional and marketing flyers and email/constant contact.
• Coordinate trainings with trainers.
• Apply and reapply, as needed, for APHA Continuing Education credits for in-person and online trainings.
• Compile data wrap-up reports and evaluation summaries.
• Maintain training equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge related to public health topics, including topics such as Social Determinates of Health
• Lived experience as Community Health Worker or CHW trainer
• Fluent in English and Spanish or other languages
• Proficiency in Zoom and other distance technology applications that support online training
• Experience with instructional design and eLearning software such as Articulate 360 and Vyond

Travel within Maine and New England states to support in-person trainings, conferences, and stakeholder meetings may be required, with mileage reimbursed.
