Over the past four decades, MCD Global Health has led malaria control programs that have increased the number of people who receive a high-quality and timely malaria diagnosis and treatment in Africa and Southeast Asia.
In 2022, there were an estimated 249 million cases of malaria worldwide and an estimated 608,000 malaria-related deaths. Approximately 77% of malaria fatalities were children younger than 5 years old.
Our malaria-related work in mosquito control, preventing malaria during pregnancy, vaccine clinical trials, diagnostics, case management, behavior change, monitoring and evaluation, and surveillance has helped in reducing the burden of malaria. Our team of experts provide technical support to countries worldwide.
We are committed to continuing and expanding our work in malaria control. By working with each country’s specific needs, we support them in their efforts to reduce malaria cases and fatalities/deaths while also being prepared to pivot and respond to any unforeseen challenges, such as COVID-19.
