With more than 17 years of experience working in local and state government, university, and nonprofit public health organizations, Kate Martin has made public health communications her life’s work. As Communications Manager for MCD Global Health, she is responsible for leading MCD’s internal and external communications and marketing strategies. She is dedicated to uncovering and sharing the stories of how MCD’s team is making an impact in people’s lives around the world.

Kate’s passion for public health is clear in her previous experience with roles spanning emergency preparedness and response, food security, wellness, community health, accreditation, and more. As a public health generalist, Kate has learned what an essential role effective communications can play, not only in telling stories, but also in changing health behaviors. Kate Martin joined MCD Global Health in December 2012, and started in her current role in July 2021. She earned a master’s degree in health communications from Michigan State University.
