Dr. John Cutler

Dr. John Cutler is a public health physician with nearly 40 years of experience developing health policy, intervention programs, capacity building initiatives and strengthening health systems in Africa and the U.S. He is dedicated to applying evidence-based and innovative approaches to the design, implementation, and evaluation of policies and programs that improve access to and the quality of public health services and products.
For more than 15 years, he served as both long- and short-term adviser to health ministries, primarily in Africa. At the global level, based at the World Health Organization headquarters, he held senior leadership roles at the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria, the Health Metrics Network, and at UNITAID.
He holds a MD from Washington University and a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, with postgraduate training in internal medicine at Cornell, neurology at UCSF, and field epidemiology at the CDC and in North Carolina.
