Dr. Janet Muriuki is a medical doctor, public health expert, policy shaper, and leadership coach with more than 24 years of experience in strengthening health systems, workforce planning and development, primary health care, leadership, management, and governance across sub-Saharan Africa and Central Asia. She has led donor-funded, multimillion-dollar initiatives, formed strategic partnerships, and driven transformational change in complex health environments.

She is the executive director and lead consultant at the Ideal Health Organization. Previously, she was the global director for Health Workforce Development, IntraHealth International, and served as the country director for Kenya. She has led and contributed to the development of health-related strategies, guidelines, tools, and publications at global, regional and country levels and has served as a workforce development and planning technical expert with the World Health Organization Geneva and AFRO.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery and holds a master’s degree in public health.
