Dr. Issakha Diallo’s well-established professional career in public health spans more than 30 years, highlighted by a broad range of technical and leadership achievements in sub-Saharan Africa.
Dr. Diallo is a physician and holds higher degrees in public health including an MD, MPH, and DrPH. He has been a leader in family planning program development, institutional development in the public and non-governmental organization sectors, and development of schools of public health and training institutions.
Among his accomplishments includes his leadership of the USAID Advance Africa Project aimed at repositioning family planning as a priority health and development intervention. He has also led the USAID AWARE II regional project that initiated the use of injectable contraceptives for the first time in Togo.
Dr. Diallo has received numerous awards and distinctions for his academic and public health career, published various papers in national and international journals, and is a member of numerous scientific and development organizations.
He has authored three books, written in French, that are available on Amazon:
