Christopher Schwabe, Ph.D., has worked for MCD Global Health since 1991 when he joined the organization's International Division as its health and public finance economist. In 2016, Chris was appointed to be the director of the international division, serving in this capacity through June 2017. On July 1, 2017, Chris was appointed the CEO and president, overseeing and directing the newly restructured global health nonprofit, working domestically and internationally.

Chris has a Ph.D. in economics with specializations in health economics and public finance from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and has more than 35 years of international health-sector related work experience.

Prior to working for MCD, Chris worked for five years at the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Juba Sudan where he was an assistant project officer for health as well as served as a United Nations volunteer.
