Angélique Rwiyereka, M.D., Ph.D., has more than 20 years of experience in clinical and public health practice, largely within resource-constrained settings. Following education in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda, and the U.S., she held leadership and management roles, oversaw research and implementation of projects within government health ministries, non-government organizations, United Nations organizations, and bilateral and multilateral organizations. She is currently working in health systems strengthening.

She has initiated high-impact social initiatives for refugees, low-income, infertile couples, and is the co-founder of Wema Healthcare Initiative, an initiative on childhood cancer in the eastern DRC.
