Through a statewide collaboration between healthcare providers, behavioral health specialists, schools, and community partners, the Maine Pediatric Behavioral Health Partnership (MPBHP) continues to strengthen the systems that support children, bringing expertise closer to home and improving care where it’s needed most.

MCD Global Health is proud to serve as a partner in this effort, working alongside the MPBHP, the Maine Department of Health and Human Services, Northern Light Acadia Hospital, MaineHealth, and others to support pediatric care providers in enhancing children’s behavioral health, especially in rural and medically underserved areas.

The partnership utilizes the Project ECHO® “all teach, all learn” model, which brings people together across roles, disciplines, and geographies, creating space to share challenges, build skills, and learn from one another in real time.

Since May 2022, 66 ECHO sessions have brought together pediatric, behavioral health, school-based, and community professionals from across Maine. Participation across the partnership’s educational offerings regularly exceeded 100 attendees per month, reflecting sustained engagement from professionals working in a wide range of clinical, behavioral health, school-based, and community support roles focused on caring for children and families. Together, the partnership demonstrates the power of collaboration in addressing complex health challenges and building sustainable, community-centered solutions.

To celebrate the program’s impact, the partnership has released a four-part video series highlighting the voices, experiences, and insights of those involved. Together, the videos tell a powerful story of what’s possible when organizations align around a shared mission and invest in lasting change.

“What we’ve built together is more than education; it’s a statewide learning community where providers can share knowledge, support one another, and strengthen care for children and families,” said MCD Program Manager Sherri Billings.
