Annual School Oral Health Program Poster Contest Now Accepting Submissions
February 3, 2026

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month! To celebrate, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s School Oral Health Program (SOHP) is proud to host its annual poster contest. Submissions will be accepted throughout February from Maine school students in pre-K through sixth grade.
Students are challenged to create an illustrated poster on what oral health means to them based on the question: How does your healthy mouth help you do the things you love?
One winner will be selected from each of the four contest brackets: pre-K and kindergarten, grades first through second, grades third through fourth, and grades fifth through sixth. Winners will receive an oral health prize basket that includes an electric toothbrush, floss, reading material, toothpaste, and more.
The deadline for poster submissions is by 3 p.m. Monday, March 2. Please read the details and rules for the contest (PDF).
For poster submissions or contest questions, please contact Jessica Daniels, SOHP communications coordinator, via email at SOHP@mcd.org.
Public voting will take place in the first week of March, and winners will be notified by Thursday, March 12.
