MCD’s Northeast Telehealth Resource Center (NETRC) was recently awarded a $1.3 million, four-year grant from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to continue implementing and expanding telehealth services in the U.S. Northeast region.

“Telehealth, and other digital health tools, continues to serve an increasingly important role in addressing challenges and opportunities within the evolving health care landscape,” Danielle Louder, co-director of MCD’s U.S. Programs, said. “We’re thrilled to continue to serve as the ‘go-to’ resource for free telehealth training and technical assistance for the Northeast and to work alongside regional and national partners to transform health systems and approaches to meet the emerging needs of our communities.”

Since 2011, the NETRC has served Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont with the goal of providing technical assistance to develop, implement, and expand telehealth services to increase access to quality health care services for rural and medically underserved communities.

Since 2021, more than 1,700 clients have been provided technical assistance; more than 500 training and education opportunities were provided; and more than 17,200 participants attended those opportunities.

The NETRC is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for the Advancement of Telehealth, part of HRSA. Nationally, there are 14 telehealth resource centers,12 regional centers, and two national centers that focus on areas of technology assessment and telehealth policy.
